Zastal answered minutes later to bring the lead back down and eventually caught up. We responded to their run with solid defense and rebounding and converted on transition baskets to take a 14-point lead into halftime 52-38.

In the 4th quarter we really turned the game up to another level. The energy in the building was excellent. Our defense was really hard-nosed and we limited their second chance opportunities, which gave us a big lead and secured the victory for us 99-73.

Gameday Round up # 11 – Turow at Polpharma

Courtesy of Andrzej Romański

Turow takes on Polpharma in Starogard Gdansk, what an intense game from start to finish! Both teams came to play and it the game was filled with emotions. Polpharma came out swinging in the first half hitting tough shots and playing solid defense to take an 8-point lead into halftime 38-30. Polpharma really feed off of their crowd. They were really loud and into the game they are practically on the court and on top of the game it’s a great advantage for them.

We battled back in the 2nd half of the game. We made solid defensive stops and made crucial baskets when we needed them. We limited them on their rebounds and were able to lead late in the 4th quarter. With a 3-point lead and 10 seconds left Deonta Vaughn hits a long-range 3-point shot to tie the game and send it into Overtime!

In Overtime we both exchanged baskets but in the end it was a crucial steal by David Jackson and 90% free throws that helped secure the 93-90 huge win for us.

Polpharma was led by Robert Skibniewski with 18 points and 5 assists, Michael Hicks with 17 points, Uros Mirkovic 15 points and 8 rebounds, Tomasz Cielebak with 12 points, and Kamil Chanas with 11 points.

Gameday Round up #10 – Kotwica at Turow

We were back in action last night in the PGE Arena. We have been off since Feb 5th and our last game was Feb 9th away so it was a great feeling having our fans behind us routing for us in an important game against a scrappy Kotwica team. We jumped out to an early lead playing solid defense and running the fast break well. We limited them to one shot and executed our offense to take a 13-point lead into halftime 51-38.

In the 2nd half the game continued to be solid for us leading by as many as 15 at the end of the 3rd period 71-56. Kotwica would not go away easily surging back from 15 points to a 1-point lead in the 4th quarter 78-77 on a Jessie Sapp 3point shot. We were able to collect ourselves and fight through the momentum change thanks to some key defensive stops down the stretch and 2 steals from David Jackson and one steal from myself to secure the victory.

Kotwica was led by PLK’s Leading Scorer Ted Scott with 26 Points and 5 rebounds. He made some very tough shots to help lead their comeback. Darrell Harris finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Turow was led by Robert Tomaszek in a monster game with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Marko Brkic – The Silent Assassin – with 17 points and 5 rebounds, Konrad Wysoski with 11 points and 4 rebounds, and David DJ Jackson finished with 12 points and 2 key steals to help seal the game.

The Arena was very intense and packed! The fans were rocking all night long! We have missed you and we thank you for all the support. Lets Go Turow!

And on top of it all I would like to Thank our die-hard fans for singing a polish Happy Birthday to Dj, Michał and myself as those are the upcoming birthdays. We heard it and appreciated those greatly!
