Spartak Primorie vs Unics Kazan Game Roundup #1

The First game of the 2011-2012 Russian League Season (PBL) vs Unics Kazan was a thriller!  Spartak Primorie is back in the top division of Russia and the first game was against a Euro-league team at home. In front of a packed crowd of about 2,000 fans Spartak Primorie took the game by storm from the beginning until the final buzzer. It was a great team effort we were able to convert baskets off our defense. Our transition game was working very well and we took a 51-39 lead into halftime.

In the 2nd half we maintained the lead playing very aggressive defense but Unics cut into the lead during the 4th quarter to make it a single digit deficit. Down the stretch we hit some big shots and got the defensive stops we needed in order to secure a huge 80-73 victory over Unics!

Unics Kazan was led by Terrel Lyday with 15 points, Henry Domercant with 13 points and 4 rebounds, and Mike Wilkinson with 10  Points for Spartak

Primorie was led by Evgeny Baburin with 11 points, Cuthbert Victor with 10 points and 8 rebounds, Jeleel Akindele with 13 points, and myself with 18 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds.

This was the first time Spartak Primorie has defeated Unics Kazan in a Russian League game so it felt great to be a part of history! I want to thank the fans for coming out and showing great support!
