My journey of France

Picture - Le MansI’m in New York fielding a few offers from teams in Poland, Croatia, Germany and Greece but still waiting for that one call to help rejuvenate my career. I have had a tough year and a half basketball wise. I just left Aliaga in Turkey it wasn’t a good fit for me and there are major financial problems in that organization. Sunday afternoon I get a call from Coach JD Jackson of Le Mans Sarthe Basket. He asks am I ready and in shape to play we need a player to step in for 6 weeks and help the team. I told coach this is the call I was waiting on and I was on the plane the next day from New York to Paris!

Fresh off the plane and medical testing I played my first game with Le Mans at home vs Artland Dragons in the Eurocup and we won. I felt part of the team as soon as I stepped on the court it was a great experience. In my stay we managed to win 5 games and losing 2 close games by a few points. We qualified for theLeaders Cup which is the top 8 teams in the French League who will play for a trophy in the middle of February. We also were tied for 1st place in the French League. They had other options but it was a tough situation knowing after 6 weeks that the contract would be over but that’s the beauty of life.I took a chance I gave up guaranteed contracts to pursue a short term deal but the benefits were large.

My leadership and winning attitude was on display and basketball is enjoyable. I want to thank Le Mans Sarthe Basket and all my teammates, fans, and supports for the warm welcome.

I have now landed a job with Cholet Basket for the rest of the season. I will be playing in the French League as well as the EuroChallenge. I am excited about this new opportunity!
